Automation: business automations as code

A platform for delivering automations to companies: workflows written in TypeScript, while the queue, schedules, secrets, run history and client panel come from the platform.

Project overview

Automation is a lightweight platform for running dedicated automations and delivering them to clients. It is not another n8n: there is no visual editor and users do not build their own flows. A workflow is plain TypeScript code with a typed SDK, and the platform provides everything around it: users and organizations, assigning workflows to them, configuration forms generated from Zod schemas, schedules, webhooks and public forms, encrypted secrets, run history and logs.

Runs go through a pg-boss queue on PostgreSQL to Node.js workers, with retries, timeouts and concurrency limits. Every run draws its step graph live, so the organization sees what is happening, and the admin can resume a failed run without repeating the steps that already succeeded (sent e-mails, AI calls) or run it again from a chosen step. Workflows write to tables and a file drive that the organization browses and edits in the panel, with a history of changes. A workflow can also have its own app: a Vue frontend with typed backend functions, served by a separate app server, so a broken app never stops the panel or the runs.

Workflows live in a separate repository and reach production through the nauto deploy CLI from CI after every change on the main branch, and the worker loads the new version by itself. The panel has a token API with OpenAPI and an MCP server, so an AI agent such as Claude Code can inspect runs, logs and tables without access to the database. The platform runs in production on Coolify and handles real business automations: finding leads and writing offers with Codex in EspoCRM, sending offers as letters through Postivo, website monitoring and deployment notifications. The project is still being developed.
