Project overview

HyperBIM is a SaaS platform for manufacturers of architectural, building and HVAC products. Its core value lies in parametric BIM objects: the manufacturer models an object once, while the architect or designer adjusts its parameters for their own project and downloads the file in the chosen format. The platform is also used by BIM software providers integrating manufacturer catalogues into their tools.

Objects are created in a desktop authoring tool, and the web dashboard handles catalogue management, Levels of Detail (LOD) and IFC properties in line with the OpenBIM methodology. Files are generated on the fly from a single source model in IFC, STEP and IGES (with Revit, ArchiCAD, Allplan and Tekla on the roadmap). The platform also provides a STEP→IFC converter that enriches geometry with product data (manually or from a PIM system) and offers file compression and minification. Models are published through an online catalogue with a 3D WebGL preview or via a unique iFrame link embedded on the manufacturer’s site; the end customer configures a variant and downloads the file.

My role here is mainly supporting and developing this platform since 2023.
